Travel Diaries - The Royal Udaipur

Udaipur is like a beautiful princess. So elegant, so modest. This was the capital of Mewar kingdom. Wherever you go in Udaipur you hear a new story about Maharana Pratab or Udai Singh or Rani Padmini. And its all very fascinating.

There are a lot of places to see in Udaipur. The best thing to do is to ditch your tour operator and explore the Udaipur streets by yourself like we did. We spend half a day in City palace and half a day in shopping the vintage stuff outside the palace. By evening we took a walk to the shores of Lake Pachola and got refreshed by the cool winter breeze and by night we got to see some authentic rajastani art forms at the Bagore ki Haweli. Luckily we were in Udaipur on the new year eve. (Yes. this post is late by 6 months :(.. lazy me !!!)

Bagore ki Haweli has got some really cool stuff to see too. I cant share all the pics here even though i really want to...
One thing you cant miss in Udaipur is the night light show at City palace. At the show they narrate the histroy of Mewar kingdom and there is some pretty good light works, But what is amazing is the view of City Palace at night. It was mesmerizing.

Jaipur - The planned beauty - Day 2

Our Rajasthan trip was in December. Honestly, I didn't know that it gets cold in that place. I am not proud to talk about my non-awareness about a state that is part of my country, but you guys should know that I live in the extreme south of this nation and here we have only two seasons – rainy season and non-rainy season. Literally. We don’t experience any extreme climate. Well people don’t call this place ‘God Own Country’ for no reason.

So, back to where we started, Rajasthan has got the extremes of both winter and summer. And we landed there in winter. Needless to say, I was frozen. I can’t stand cold . I hate that thing about me but I guess there is no fat in my body that can actually help me to get through the cold. So for me, Jaipur was freakishly cold, but for everyone else it was actually a pretty sunny day.

Any ways, my partner had a clear plan for the day. And we actually did stick with the plan. We planned to visit Chokhi Dhani in the evening, so the morning plans were adjusted to that.

Our first destination was Amer fort. Amer is a huge palace/fort build in red sand and marble. The rooms of Amer are built and modified over years and has all the luxuries for a royal living. Every bathroom in this palace has the steam bath facility and the royal bedroom has scientifically designed natural air conditioning. Amer palace has beautiful gardens, mirror worked and flower painted walls. This place is so beautiful for your eyes and the camera lenses.

Next destination was Jaighar fort, which is in the same compound as Amer palace. We got to walk around a little bit on top of the walls and caught the view of beautiful Jaipur.

Another stop was to see the world's biggest cannon. Yes, its in India and in Jaipur. It says after this Cannon was placed there no one ever bothered to fight with the king. haha.

Lastly we went to Chokhi Dhani. It was a treat to eyes, ears and the tastebuds. It is an artificial rajastani village where you get to see the folk entertainment, can have the delicious rajastani cuisine and feel the ethnic village life ambience. We walked around the place, danced a little, clicked a lot of pics and ate a lot.

There ends our two day Jaipur trip. Jaipur is a must see spot in India. Just get there at the right time and stay away from the tourist-looting businessmen. You gonna love it.

(Some pics are blur. I know. We didn't yet learn how to do the manual adjustments. Seriously!!!)

Some more pics from Jaipur trip...

Random thoughts and random pics

I have a few unfinished posts in my draft since last few weeks. I don't know when I will be able to finish that. But, as usual, I have some excuses for that. First and the saddest of all, my laptop stopped working. I cant blame it. I used it a lot..*sigh*
I have been so busy for the last two weeks, you guys wont even imagine. I am travelling home every weekends for last one or two months. That means on week days, lots and lots of tiredness and sleep and less and less of anything and everything else. *sigh*
Still, I am always thinking how can I have at least one post every week(as I promised). Let the unfinished draft be there for some more time. Today I have a few pics from my last week and a few thoughts from today morning's travel back from home.

Until last year I too had the same mantra about being in a relationship. I want someone who can 'Love me as I am'. I hear everybody saying the same again and again. Everyone wants to be accepted and loved with all their weirdness, craziness, arrogance or what else. But have we ever thought of being on the other side of a relationship ? Have we thought of loving someone genuinely and completely as they are ? That sounds difficult right. It sounded impossible to me. Well, it still does.

The point is, saying 'love me as I am or leave me' is so easy but practically we are asking our partner to either do something which is impossible or leave. We know what the result is gonna be.

When two people are in love, both will change or rather tweak themselves to suit to each other. That happens unintentionally. But when two people decides to stay in love forever, there would be continuous pressure for changing something in each other and according to me its always better to try the change. After all, sticking on to what I am is not as precious as having the one I love in my life forever.

When two people live together there would be a lot of stuff that the other cant adjust to. I am not saying that we should change everything for the other but definitely there should be some changes. And it should come from both.

Change for each other. Tweak yourself a bit. There is no better way to express love. If he doesn't love you the way you are, be the way he loves. Because love is selflessness.

My Instagram flashback

It’s been long. I know. It was not intended, I swear. I was so busy last week. And I would be more busy this week and a few coming weeks too. I have some travel plans with my family, for this week. No. It’s not a vacation. Not a leisure trip. We are going to meet some people who are going to be our relatives soon. I will let you guys know more when it’s the right time. Until then, I will try to have at least one post every week. Well, that’s not what I have planned for my blog but for now I think that is a realistic goal.

For today, here is an Instagram flashback...
